As part of maintenance for the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks and Lake Washington Ship Canal, perform modeling of fish behavior and water quality in the Lake Washington Ship Canal. 324464 LWSC ARRA FISH PASSAGE IMPROVEMENT. The task order incorporates the three tasks (two modeling tasks and a deliverables task) identified in the performance work statement from the Corps, which provides specific direction for the work to be performed under this task order. Task 1 is to develop a 3D, time-varying computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model of the Lake Washington Ship Canal. The model will account for dynamic flow and water quality conditions in the Ship Canal. Task 2 involves operating the model for eight scenarios addressing upstream and downstream migration characteristics for salmon species that transit the Ship Canal. Task 3 is to provide deliverable documentation, including archived model input and output data and a report on the results. As directed in Section 1.2.1 of the performance work statement, subcontractor IIHR-Hydroscience & Engineering (IIHR) is to perform the technical aspects of the task order, based on prior involvement with similar work for the Lake Washington Ship Canal. IIHR will take full responsibility for all numerical modeling activities under the task order, including: grid generation, mathematical and numerical modeling, code execution, data transmittal and all correspondences with Corps representatives. IIHR implemented several similar task orders involving CFD modeling work under a previous Tetra Tech IDIQ contract with the Corps.
