As part of Construction Monitoring on the Santa Maria River, Santa Barbara County, California; Aspen Environmental Group will conduct construction monitoring; including input on pre-construction environmental briefing summary and provide monitoring support for 3 years. Provide water quality monitoring to ensure that no construction or vehicle traffic occurs within flowing or ponded water. Provide monitoring reports which include a photographic record and field notes of all project areas, including staging areas and borrow sites, documenting the site conditions before, during, and post-construction.
Surveys for Sensitive Species (federally and state listed species) – Steelhead Monitoring to ensure that no steelhead are impacted by construction activities. Red Legged Frog and Arroyo Toads Surveys; redirect construction if species are found in the construction area. Protocol Least Bell’s Vireo Surveys; conduct least Bell's vireo (Vireo bellii pusillus) (LBV) protocol surveys within potentially suitable LBV occurring habitat within the project area, and within a corresponding 500-foot buffer during construction beginning 2010 for one year only.
