"TAS::96 3134::TAS RECOVERYPROJECT#::154463::RP#" - - Prepare a Program for Design for Wards 78F and 78G and a PFD for Ward 2C.
Prepare conceptual plans of alternative floor plans of the Wards for presentation to and discussion with Government.
Prepare design documents based on preferred alternative selected by the Gov’t. Conduct surveys, and investigations, to ensure the renovations meet the space and other needs for the particular specialty. Prepare documentation of all existing conditions necessary for the design and construction of these projects.
Conduct explorations and testing to determine the presence of hazardous materials at the sites and prepare a report of findings for the Wards.
Conduct a Fire Code Review by a Fire Protection Engineer and provide a report of fire code deficiencies. Incorporate corrections of deficiencies into the design documents. Assess existing HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, communication, security, alarm and medical gas systems in the existing facilities to determine whether these existing systems contain sufficient capacity to provide system needs for the proposed uses. Prepare improvement recommendation for each building system. Provide all architectural and engineering services necessary to prepare designs and bid documents for a complete project.
Provide for Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) in the design that are necessary during construction such that portions of Buildings will continue to comply with NFPA
Prepare an infection control risk assessment in accordance with Infection Control Policies of the Bedford VAMC for each portion of the existing facility that is impacted by the project.Prepare a detailed infection control plan for the construction contractor to follow, based on the results of the risk assessment. .
Prepare project construction phasing plans and construction cost estimates
Identify bid options or additive bid items, and incorporate options or additives into the construction documents.
Prepare project construction schedules
Attend a Pre-Bid meeting with bidders Provide a project overview and respond to questions.
Provide construction services in the form of responding to inquiries and requests for clarifications from potential bidders during the contract solicitation period, assisting in preparation of amendments including changes to drawings and/or specifications as necessary, reviewing submittals from the construction contractor, responding to requests for information or clarification during construction, and site visits during construction as requested.
