MULTNOMAH, COUNTY OF
To promote healthy eating, the Chronic Disease Prevention Program (CDPP) will create a Healthy Active Schools Network to work collaboratively with school districts and community partners to reduce the availability of unhealthy foods and beverages and increase the availability of healthy foods and beverages. To promote physical activity, CDPP will work to increase the proportion of bike, pedestrian, public transit, and other active transportation projects rather than road-widening and expansion projects.

School Settings
-Completed distribution and collection of questionnaire for Youth Risk Behavioral Survey (YRBS).
-Completed data entry for YRBS.
-Drawing from school districts final narrative reports, Healthy Active Schools Coordinator completed narrative reports for all school related objectives under CPPW.
Transportation and Land Use
-Participated in meetings with partners and community members serving on Policy Expert Groups (PEG) to advise Comp Plan update.
-Healthy Communities by Design staff writing narrative reports for objectives under CPPW.
Nutrition Policy
-County adoption of Healthy Food and Beverage Guidelines for food purchased with County funds still pending. Focus on safe tap water for drinking, fruits and veggies, restricting soda, and calorie labeling when available.
-Staff writing narrative reports for all food and nutrition related objectives under CPPW.
Media Campaign
-Launch of worksites campaign including: development of a poster series which includes both English and Spanish, one English language television vignette which appeared on KGW Newschannel 8 and Oregon Public Broadcasting, two Spanish language vignettes which appeared on Univision television station, four high profile billboards, print advertising with Pamplin Media Group (community newspapers), Portland Business Journal (Daily Email update), culturally specific newspapers (Asian Reporter, Observer, the Skanner, and El Hispanic News), and a bus transit campaign.
Administration
-At the end of grant period, facilitating staff transitions to other positions within health department.
-Closing all contracts and continued processing of invoices.
-Planning for the final reporting requirements by establishing timelines and staffing.
