Translation services have been utilized for DVSAC brochures, newspaper ads, and outreach. Additional materials were distributed. Technical support services were ongoing at two sites. The People's Court Watch Coordinator was murdered on January 21, 2011 on the island of St. Croix. We continued however with his work by contracting with one of the translators as an PCWP assistant and the executive director worked to monitor the program volunteers. We continued to collect articles and observations for the People's Court Watch Program on domestic and dating violence, stalking and sexual assault, including homicides. We still have trained volunteers for both judicial districts. Its "Walk in For Justice" activity was postponed until the presiding judge gives a date in May. We continue to update our data to create reports to support advocacy for our issues. We moved forward with and held the Women and Girls domestic violence conferences in both districts during Women's History Month as planned. Representatives from many community and government agencies participated as presenters and attendees. |
