Quarterly Activities/Project Description ? Successful completion of our fifth and sixth 40 hour entry level Photovoltaic class. These classes are taught using the learning keys from National Board of Certified Energy Practitioners. The classes were conducted on Friday and Saturdays to meet the needs of the students. The demand for these classes continues to be very strong. Our utility company (Tennessee Valley Authority) now has a requirement for people that connect to the grid to have completed this class and successfully completed the exam. This is a very good example of policy creating demand. ? Successful completion of the Alabama Energy Code classes for both Residential and Commercial buildings. The students that complete these classes are prepared to assist their employers in the application of the energy codes. ? 15 students completed the residential building duct and envelope tightness training. With successful completion of this class and passing the field and written test the student receives credentials to perform this work on his employer?s contract houses. ? Successful completion of the 40 hour BPI Building Analyst class. (15 students) This class and the accompanying written and field tests provide the students with national recognized stackable credentials. ? Successful completion of HERS training for 15 students. This is a national recognized credential that will improve unemployed participant?s success rate with job hunting.

Description of Jobs Created INTERIM DIRECTOR OF THE ACECET PROJECT Oversee renovation of building for renewable energy project. Develop partnerships with business, industry, and trade associations related to energy conservation technologies and construction. Interact and coordinate technical training with college personnel. Present information to groups in a classroom, shop or lab environment. Comprehend and translate technical literature and processes. Set and meet deadlines and manage multiples projects. Perform all other duties as assigned with relation to the ACECET grant. ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR OF THE ACECET GRANT Provide assistance to the director in the research and documentation of grant processes and products. Coordinate activities between the director and the supporting faulty. Maintain RAD documentation and reporting Facilitates the collection of needed information from the renewable energy students. CO-OP STUDENTS hired per GAN to build and install solar systems or to perform heating and air conditioning optimization for hands on experience to compliment their academics.
