| Quarterly Activities/Project Description |
The contractors have continued work on the first two of the three phases of the construction contract. The first phase is extending the pipe, power, and communications underground from the building to the mine. The second phase is the work inside the existing building which includes the installation of the heat pump and associated pumps, pipe, fittings, valves, controls, and necessary electrical power. All of the utilities have been extended to the mine. The new power transformer will be delivered late in April and installation will be complete in early May. This will complete phase 1. The phase 2 work inside the building is near completion. The heat pump is set and the piping and pumps are being installed. The control work should be completed in April.
The decline that is being built with private funds has reached the flooded mine shaft that we are using as the heat sink. This has allowed us to complete the design and obtain pricing on the third phase of the project - the heat sink inside the mine shaft. The cost of the project remains in budget. Work on this third phase is planned to continue directly from the completion of the first two phases of work after the new transformer is set in May.
