WOLF ENGINEERING, LLC
SBIR Funded research and development. The purpose of the project is to investigate the use of membranes as a water recovery device for spacecraft. Current designs for manned spacecraft use CO2 removal technologies that also remove water. The purpose of the study is to develop a device which, when used in conjunction with the CO2 removal system, will save the water that would otherwise be removed. The benefit of such a technology development is to reduce the amount of expendable materials needed for exploration missions. The deliverable for this project is a report describing the feasibility of the technology and the requirements for such a device as would serve the purpose for manned space exploration missions.
