Project Activities Description Law Enforcement Agencies
Quarterly Activities/Project Description The program employs five full-time police officers deployed in community policing working with citizens and stakeholders. The officers under the grant have established a new Community Action Team (CAT). We have 37 active neighborhood watch associations and their monthly meetings are attended by at least one of the five team members. This reporting period the CAT officers were involved in the following activities: 1) Presentation of monthly crime stats to the residents at these meetings 2) Directed residents to the proper city department for non law enforcement concerns 3) Immediate reaction to all concerns or problems brought to their attention regarding crime or traffic problems. So far the CAT Officers are well received within the neighborhoods and have been very effective at addressing residential crime and traffic problems.
