IVY TECH COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF INDIANA

Indiana is one of the states most adversely affected by the recession and by the decline of the auto industry. Two thirds of Indiana's counties have unemployment rates above the national average. To address this problem, ivy Tech Community College and partners propose a statewide project to train unemployed and displaced workers for three high growth and emerging industries. With this grant Ivy Tech and partners propose to train 1,458 workers. Ivy Tech and partners will provide assessment, career planning and readiness, basic skills training, technical training, and placement; such that at least 1,181 workers complete an industry recognized technical certification/degree and 1,023 are placed in jobs.
