GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY
HIGH-POTENTIAL WORKING FLUIDS FOR NEXT GENERATION BINARY CYCLE GEOTHERMAL POWER PLANTS In this project novel working fluids and advanced cycle combinations are evaluated for EGS applications. Goal is to predict the potential increase in net power output relative to conventional isopropane, isobutane or refrigerant based Organic Rankine Cycles (Phase 1) and optimize the overall economics for an EGS plan including power plant and drilling cost (Phase 2). Phase 3 is focused on experimentally validating the performance predictions using a pilot scale test setup.
