ADMINISTRACION REHABILITACION VOCACIONAL
Assist in operating statewide comprehensive, coordinated, effective, efficient and accountable programs of vocational rehabilitation, which are an integral part of a statewide workforce investment system; and designed to assess, plan develop, and provide vocational rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities, consistent with their strengths, sources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests, and informed choice, so that such individuales may prepare and engage in gainful employment.

ARRA funds were used to reinforce direct consumer services in areas that have been underserved due to lack of support staff. By covering these needs we have also improved the quality of services to individuals by reducing case loads to counselors allowing better service delivery. Puerto Rico Vocational Rehabilitation Administration has updated equipment in order to improve our case service system in compliance with the new IT software requirements. During this quarter one pending invoice was processed for payment and account was closed out. All funds have been expended and drawndown accordingly. |

Puerto Rico Vocational Rehabilitation Administration established contracts for the provision of services to individuals with most significant disabilities. These services included training and job placement. In addition, Puerto Rico Vocational Rehabilitation Administration created employment for the provision of direct consumer services. Examples of jobs created were: two (2) lawyers, eight (8) employment officers, ten (10) adjustment and evaluation assistants, forty (40) vocational rehabilitation counselors, thirty (30)vocational rehabilitation counselors aides, three (3) assistive services Rehabilitation Officers, one (1) accountant, two (2) Support and Employment Officers, eight(8)maintenance employees. These were temporary positions to support consumer services for the duration of the ARRA funds. During this quarter no jobs were created.
