| Quarterly Activities/Project Description |
Public safety is being enhanced with ARRA JAG funding within California's 58 counties. All 229 subrecipients are being closely monitored by Cal EMA and are on track to accomplish their goals and activities within the two to three year time frame they have been provided. Personnel, operating expenses and equipment all funded with ARRA JAG monies has resulted in reducing drug trafficking; combating human trafficking and saving victims; reducing firearms trafficking with the help of Mexican law enforcement; ensuring that drug task forces are properly trained; supervising felony probationers to help them stay out of prison; enhancing parolee reentry courts to reduce recidivism; supporting regional networks of anti-gang efforts at community, city and county levels; enhancing outcomes and accountability of substance abuse treatment for criminal offenders convicted of non-violent drug offenses; and supporting a free and anonymous telephone service that provides victims of crime information and notification of pending movement of an offender. |
