UTAH GOVERNORS OFFICE OF ENERGY DEVELOPMENT
This grant provides funding from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), specifically for State Energy Programs, to be used for energy efficiency and renewable energy purposes. Consistent with the goals of the DOE State Energy Program, Utah SEP seeks to contribute to the ARRA through the following:
- increase energy efficiency to reduce energy cost and consumption for consumers, businesses and government
- reduce reliance on imported energy
- improve the reliability of electricity and fuel supply and the delivery of energy services, and
- reduce the impacts of energy production and use on the environment.
Activities are being conducted in six market areas: buildings, electric power and renewable energy, energy education, industry, policy planning and energy security, and transportation. This report has been updated to reflect DFCM as a subrecipient. This will increase the amount reported in box 4 to include the funds expended under their contrracts. The Utah State Energy Program (USEP) was awarded $35,362,000 under the ARRA SEP Formula Grant. As of Sept 30th 2011, 100% of the ARRA SEP Formula Grant fundswere obligated and over 90% has been expended as of December 31, 2012. USEP has also dedicated considerable amount of time ensuring that all sub-awardees are complying with state, federal and ARRA regulations. Program monitoring and reporting is continuing.
ARRA SEP Formula Grant Status: USEP has a total of 21 programs (or market titles). Three programs were canceled through a grant amendment approved by DOE in October 2010.
