WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senators Robert C. Byrd and Jay Rockefeller (both D-W.Va.) and Representative Nick J. Rahall, II (D-W.Va.) today announced the release of $25,361,000 from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) for Army Corps of Engineer (ACOE) projects in southern West Virginia. “Funding for these projects will help commerce move more quickly on our waterways, enhance West Virginia’s ‘wild and wonderful’ environmental and recreational heritage and protect communities downstream from severe flooding,” said Senator Byrd.
